AGRIPAUME, vient sans culture dans les lieux incultes & raboteux. Elle se multiplie de semence & de plant enraciné en Mars.

Cette plante a été nommée en Latin, cardiaca, qui signifie cœur, comme étant une plante propre pour les affections de ce viscere. On l’emploie ordinairement en décoction, ou en tisane. Elle est apéritive & propre pour provoquer les mois des femmes: c’est aussi un excellent diurétique. Le jus exprimé de cette plante se donne avec succès, à deux trois onces aux enfans qui ont des vers.

Motherwort Leonurus cardiaca, comes without cultivation in uncultivated & rugged places. It multiplies from seed & rooted plant in March.

This plant was named in Latin, cardiaca, and Greek, leon [lion] ouros [tail], which means lionheart, as being a plant suitable for the affections of this viscera. It is usually used as a decoction or herbal tea. It is an aperitif & clean to induce women's monthlies: it is also an excellent diuretic. The juice expressed from this plant is successfully given at two to three ounces to children who have worms.
