Ancolie Columbine Aquilegia vulgaris

ANCOLIE. Cette plante est apéritive, diurétique, sudorifique, détersive & antiscorbutique. Un gros de la poudre de sa racine, pris dans du vin, appaise la colique néphrétique. Un gros de sa graine mis en poudre, mêlée avec un peu de safran, & délayée dans un verre du vin, est très-utile dans la jaunisse. Là teinture de ses fleurs, tirée avec de l’esprit-du-vin, est excellent pour bien nettoyer la bouche & affermir les gencives.

COLUMBINE. This plant is an aperitif, diuretic, sudorific, detergent & antiscorbutic. A large part of the powder from its root, taken in wine, soothes renal colic. A large part of its seed, put into powder, mixed with a little saffron, and diluted in a glass of wine, is very useful in jaundice. The tincture of its flowers, drawn with spirit of wine, is excellent for cleaning the mouth and firming the gums.
